The Wilderness Society yesterday launched its Queensland election
campaign website:

containing images,information
on Qld environment issues the
other party's environment
policies ,how to help TWS
election campaign, how to vote recommendations for Sunshine Coast
and Cairns electorates
(where TWS has focussed and
community campaign work in
the lead up to the election).

The Wilderness Society is a
national, community-based, environmental advocacy organisation
whose mission is to protect, promote
and secure the future of wilderness
and other high conservation areas.

Since its formation in 1976, The Wilderness Society has protected
over five million hectares of wilderness in Australia,
including Kakadu, the Daintree, Kangaroo Island, South West
Tasmania, Australia's Sub-Antarctic Islands and Shark Bay.

To honour MARY CAMERON
a well known and highly
regarded botanist

A South Esk Pine was
planted in her honour,at
this event organised by the
LAUNCESTON FIELD
NATURALISTS CLUB

All field naturalist groups in
Tasmania were invited to
attend along with
representatives of other
environmental
groups who have benefitted from
Mrs Cameron's expertise.
