International Business And Environmental Leaders Convene to Explore Markets for Well-Managed Forest Products
Portland, Oregon - From September 26-28, 2001, the Certified Forest Products Council (CFPC) with WWF - the conservation organization, will host the premier certified forest products conference in North America. The conference will be convened as a forum to exchange ideas with some of the world’s foremost experts in forest management and to provide a unique opportunity to view first-hand the breadth of certified forest products available on the global market.

New Investment Fund joins forces with WWF, the Forest Stewardship Council and the Certified Forest Products Council to save Rainforests
WWF and the Certified Forest Products Council (CFPC) are delighted to announce their support of The Xylem Rainforest Fund, L.P. (XRF), which has stated its commitment to invest in certified forest management companies recognized by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The target fund size is US$500 million. With this commitment, XRF joins the Global Forest and Trade Network (GFTN) co-ordinated by WWF, along with over 700 member companies and organisations worldwide.

London, UK - WWF - the conservation organisation- is delighted to announce that Friends Ivory & Sime, the market leading socially responsible investment manager, has become the first financial services company to join the WWF 95+Group (the UK Forest and Trade Network). Friends Ivory & Sime is also the first to join the global network of over 700 companies worldwide who are committed to producing, purchasing and now investing in forest products from well-managed forests and to supporting independent certification.

Business Backs Eco Label
Brussels, Belgium - Decospan, Europe's biggest manufacturer of veneer panelling, announced today it will buy as many wood products as possible from well-managed woodlands - becoming the 50th Belgian company to join Club 97 (Forest and Trade Network Belgium): a group of firms in Belgium backing the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), a unique initiative enabling consumers to identify timber products from environmentally and socially well-managed forests through forest certification and product labelling.

WWF and Tembec Inc. Reach Historic Accord to Promote Long-term Sustainability of Canadian Forestry
