The Australian Democrats new voice to young people Change Politics.com. Was launched on Tuesday, November 6 by the Democrats' Youth Affairs spokesperson, Senator Brian Greig, in Adelaide with Ms Jo Pride, who at 26 is the Democrats' youngest federal candidate in South Australia. "Young Australians contribute enormously to the community, but during this campaign they have again been forgotten by the old parties," Senator Greig said. "The Democrats have always been the party that best represents the interests of young people." "ChangePolitics.com continues our party's tradition of listening to their ideas and concerns." After the recent ACT election, in which Ms Roslyn Dundas, 23, became the youngest female elected to an Australian parliament, the Democrats have again backed their belief in youth by nominating Ms Pride for a winnable seat in the House of Representatives. "Young people need to be better represented both in parliament and the broader community," Ms Pride said." "They don't need to be told what to think. They have intelligent and creative ideas of their own that deserve to be heard." "ChangePolitics.com is a non-partisan website that encourages young people to discuss the issues they're passionate about in a medium that has become their own," Ms Pride said." The Democrats developed the website in consultation with young people and using the results of Youth Poll, a major annual survey of young Australians' attitudes and ideals.
