In Launceston numbers are growing every year for the Anzac Day Parades with many children of veterans being permitted to march in place of their relatives.
However as numbers of World War 1 and 2 veterans dwindle there is concern that Anzac Day celebrations may become less relevant.
The RSL nationally are conducting a survey across the country to determine what Australians think about Anzac Day and how it should be commemorated in the future.
Some people have even considered that the day should be amalgamated with AUSTRALIA DAY,what do you think?
The community activities around local cenotaphs already include remembrances and acknowledgement to veterans of Vietnam,The Gulf War and whereever Australians are currently posted e.g. TIMOR.
If the emotional ceremonies choke you up,perhaps you might like to take some further action towards lasting peace by visiting WORLD RIGHTS and NO GUNS,NO VIOLENCE.
