The Tasmanian Arts Community
is very vibrant,with 
 
accomplished dancers and singers.
 
The University of Tasmania
has Academies of Art galleries
in Hobart and Launceston.
 
 in Tasmania's northeast celebrates the beginnings
 
The Golconda festival is world renowned
and receives support
from the entire Tasmanian arts community
including the School of Architecture.
 
 The historic surroundings of  Salamanca Place
in Hobart,is home to a number art galleries
and a number of performing arts spaces.

Bicentenary Arts Events and Programmes

 is on show at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery
until February 1.
 
Hobart's St David's Cathedral  and the Society of Bell Ringers
will be continuing their tradition with renewed vigour
in a Bicentenary Bells performance.
 
Launceston's Theatre North
will be performing "The Gathering"
 
Artists in Residence programmes will be active
around Tasmania ,including in Georgetown.
 
A dramatic highlight of the year will be the musical version of  
performed by the Mainstage Theatre,book at Centertainment
 
The Tasmanian Chorale
 will be presenting "Voices of History"
 
Island Magazine will feature a major essay
in each of it's quarterly issues
 
The Woollily Art Exhibition
curated by Ricky and Anita Marnard
opened the year at the Carnegie Gallery,
as a  contribution from the Indigenous Artist community
 
 
 

Young Designers Month around Tasmania
celebrates the best contemporary craft and design in Tasmania.
