Port Arthur Historical Site is Tasmania's premier tourist location.

The grim convict history associated with this site is in stark contrast to the beautiful park and waterfront setting.

Ruins of the Penitentiary and Church still remain,together with intact cottages .

The guided tours and visitor interpretation centre are musts for all visitors.

In April 1996 one person murdered 56 people in a shooting rampage,on a peaceful Sunday afternoon the record still remains as the worlds worst massacre.

Ruins of the Broad Arrow Cafe have been converted into
a memorial and haven for the victims,friends and families.

The ruins of the historic church has also also been used for
memorial services for this event.
